I've always been a slow poke. Even when it comes to watching shows, I'm slow. I always tend to record series or other shows, and then watch it days or weeks later. And since I was pretty free tonight, I decided to watch one of the shows that I recorded - Malaysia's Most Beautiful Finale, Season 1. Actually, I didn't even watch a single episode before this, but somehow I just wanted to see the outcome. :D
Anyway, the Malay girl - Dilla (hope I got it spelled correctly), won. Well, I do think she's prettier than the other Chinese girl, Jessie. Of course, beauty is not supposed to be just judged based on the outer beauty. But I suspect that both lack in terms of inner beauty. They screened past episodes which involved controversy especially stirred by Jessie. Must have involved loads of backstabbing and bitching. You could tell because all the previous contestants had their chance in asking the final two girls questions and some of them probably had something against either one of them because you could see that some of the questions were made to stun them with some sort of confrontation.
Questions like 'People's been telling that you hate me...blah blah blah..do you think you are humble enough in this competition?' Dilla said yes. The lady who asked her the question walked away in a huff saying something along the lines of 'It just confirmes of what I thought of you', because Dilla felt that she was humble.
Another question which was for for Jessie, went like this: Why is it that you're different when you're in front of the camera and off-camera? Which is the real you? Jessie said that both were the real her and mumbled utter nonsense, probably trying to convince the audience that she is not just pretending to be another person on screen. Anyway, I felt her answers sounded too 'prepared'.
Even the video recordings of why the other girl doesn't deserve to win the title was another opportunity to backstab. "I don't think Jessie deserves it to win the title. She's just voluptious" and went on laughing. Voluptious? You mean fat. Her may have pretty full boobs, but she's also got a tummy to nearly match its size. Don't get me wrong. I'm not much better than her. I have flabs that could wow you, and my upper area is just about the size of ant-bites. If it was the other way round, I would really be pleased. But to be honest, if I were to meet them esp Jessie in person in the state of without make-up and with glasses, I would have never thought that she would be a runner up for the title.
So I wonder, is it just girl's nature to be bitchy? Look at 'America's Next Top Model'. Another bitching fest. But nevertheless, it's still fun for us to watch. But isn't Malaysia supposed to be a conservative country? Which expects good examples to be shown everywhere? I wonder why would they even THINK of coming up with such a show? Did they actually think all the girls will be in harmony, skipping in a circle while holding hands? Or maybe they just wanted another hit show. Anyway, my job is just to sit back and enjoy the full action.
