A Sinful Weekend

A random night out - 14 June 2008

While June was away, Janice met up with the rest of us. First, it was drinks at Ten Ren til Maggie finished work. Then it was Laksa King for dinner before we settled down at Koko Black, Lygon St.

Greedy Steph.I like that glow of light on her face :P
Delightful things that make your tummy grow an inch or two.
The yummiest hot chocolate ever. Mmm...
Mine - Iced Mocha.

Actually the hot choc has a stronger taste in cocoa but for some reason, I keep sticking back to
the iced ones despite reminding myself to try the hot one when I next visit Koko Black. Maybe it's because of the fact that it's hot. And despite how cold it is in Melbourne, I still prefer cold to hot drinks :/

The next day Janice picked all of us up to go DFO shopping at Cheltenham. I got quite a couple of bargains - heels, tees, PA stuff and.....I forgot :/ We had dinner at Malaymas (yeap, it's been Malaysian food all weekend!) and the food were pretty good. I haven't visited the place since 2006 so it's nice to know the food still taste as nice.

We made a small final stop at Deric's workplace to steal a couple of scoops of ice-cream before heading home.

At the end of June, I finally moved out of my curent place. It was a busy week - packing, moving, and unpacking once again. You haven't got the slightest clue how much junk I have. You would be overwhelmed by the all our stuff right after the movers left.

It took us 3 bloody days to slowly clear all the stuffs into our own bedrooms from the living area and move the furniture around.

I think I am turning into an aunty. Whenever I browse around Myer, I realised that I spent the longest time at the houseware department -_-" I'm eager to buy nice things to decorate my new pad, and is wishing to buy some new colorful kitchen accessories.

Yes, I know it's somewhat a total waste of money. But who can deny that a range of light blue or baby pink accessories in the kitchen wouldn't look nice??! Wouldn't you even want to drink more warm water if your kettle was PINK in color? HEHEHE.

To be honest, my current place wasn't out first choice. We found a cheaper and even brighter place. PLUS, the room I would have picked would have had even a bigger wardrobe than my last apartment. It's really a dream come true.

And one of the classiest bar is just across the road. And restaurants as well! And then there's friends in the same building - June would love picking all of us up together :) Plus it'll be easy to hang out together indoors even without heading out during a cold winter night.

But, our application was unsuccessful.

.....

Obviously everyone wants an apartment which is cheap and has big wardrobes. Man, I hate Dingle Partners. I hope they bankrupt soon. Yes, I'm being bitter about our rejected application but I DO dislike their system. Their applications are the most troublesome ones, and they process applications so slowly. And you only get to talk to the receptionist at all times. Then you'll need to leave a message, which I suspect will never be passed on.

I always liked Concept Blue apartments. Having my own walk-in wardrobe would have been great. But it was slightly above Steph's initial budget. When she was ready to pay for more, time was no longer on our side.

St Kilda Road and Queens Road actually have quite a few nice apartments but it's not close enough to the city as I want it to be. Tramming daily isn't a favourable option for me. And even if I got myself a car in the future, I wouldn't like the thought of driving to the city and then suffer hell looking for a measly parking spot. ESPECIALLY on Fridays & Saturdays.

Well, I wouldn't say that I don't like my place. We've managed to turn it relatively cosy. And I found out the place to be pretty convenient. Easy to hop onto a tram anytime. And there's still the City Circle and trains. The only annoying part would be the Internet for now, but I think we're slowly sorting that out already :)

With more small details added to the place when I have the time, it really will be a proper place that we call home :)
