The moment he arrived at my place, I took him out to a nearby bar to chill and have drinks. Gin Palace was one of the places we used to frequent but somehow we just don't go anymore. Oh I just remembered another place I could have taken him to, but we'll save that for his next trip. We went for some supper in Chinatown and then called it a night.
We had to get up relatively early the next morning. Went to Vic Mart for Churros and pass something to Victor before he flew back to KL. Had brunch near my apartment and then walked aimlessly around the city. Had another round of brief drinks with June before I headed to work and left him to explore the city by himself for a few hours.
Dinner was at Bistro Vue - a place we agreed to go, even before he flew over. It's a cheaper version of Vue Du Monde.
The mains were okay. Not absolutely fantastic but still good.
Desserts - Steph seemed to really enjoy her parfait, while I think my souffle was overrated. It seemed like something every table was having, and needed a 20mins wait. Or maybe, I was just too stuffed by then to really enjoy it - but it just felt like chocolate mousse that rise when you pour chocolate syrup over it.
Late night, we headed to Eve.
Found this on the club's FB.
I worked all day on Saturday, and then had dinner at Shark Fin's House. Kien invited Yee Deng and her sister along too. It might have been because I was pretty hungry, but I enjoyed dinner. It always feels good to catch up with highschool mates and to find out how others are doing.
Minh had a birthday bash to attend, and dragged the 3 of us along. The place was right next to Chasers, and reminded me of Red Violin on Bourke Street. Sounds familiar? Of course! RV is the place I celebrated my birthday in advance before Kien left and got pretty thrashed. Throwing up on the streets and unglamorous stuff like that haha. Wait, did I puke on my sheets? Erm, actually I don't really want to know.
We had supper at Chillipadi before Minh dropped us home.
Sunday, we had late noon yumchar session with the rest of my friends. I finally had my Lau Sar Pao!! I tend to love anything with salted egg yolk in it. We then took a trip to St Kilda beach but it was a little cold despite the sun.
We found these swing seats at Amello cafe. Ahh, if I had a book and it was less chilly, it would be perfect. Completed with a nice icy drink in the sun :) I MUST get one of these in my garden when I have my own house next time hehe.
We rushed home in the evening to send Kien off. And that's the end of his holidays, and my weekend. I had to work a full shift yesterday and it felt so tiring after!
Now that I've spent half my day bumming around, I should really get back to studying once again. But just before I go, I must share this. Remember I was talking about high-waisted skirts recently? I found some pics to share! :):):) The four thumbnails on the left are full skirts - flare/full. Cute! The single one on the top right - tulip. Not exactly that cut, but something similar. Tell me where I can get them?
Okay, I'm done. Heading off now!
