I went for the Melbourne Cup with Stephane. She managed to get two Birdcage tickets. Since Papa said that the tickets weren't cheap and that there will be cameramen everywhere, we decided to ditch our initial plan of wearing something really simple and decided to put a lil' more effort in how we dress. Wait, it was because that old man said that we might get kicked out for not being appropriately dressed and might even be caught on video for that -_-"

The moment exams ended, Wai Kien came for holidays. He came to attend his cousin's wedding and was staying for just slightly over the weekend. Lots of booze consumption and food, which was pretty much expected. I was gonna take him clubbing but Club Seven was at full capacity on Friday night. At the end the whole lot of us just went to some random pub.

We checked two diferent places out on Saturday night, and Monday night. Since most of my close friends came out on Saturday night, I decided to just buy two champagne bottles all for us to toast for my birthday in advance before I left for KL. I think trying to finish the leftovers of the bottles was a great mistake. Because I started drinking whatever Kien fed me with after that and everything started spinning..haha. Let's save the embarassing stuff for another day :/
Sunday was a chance for me to unwind from the crazy night before, because Kien had to attend the wedding ceremony and wouldn't be staying over. Monday night, we went to Golden Monkey for the first time. I heard from friends that it's been awarded 'Best Bar Of The Year' or something. It had a very nice and relaxed setting. I confess that I'm a real suaku and don't get to order cocktails often. And doubt that I'll have many often because I find cocktails a tad pricey for my liking.
Tuesday I went for morning yumcha session with Kien. We went window shopping for abit, along the small alleys and even visited some vintage shop he discovered during his last holidays ain Melbourne. Soon, it was time for him to head home and collect his bags to catch the bus to the airport. I kinda made him miss it, so I sent him off in a cab before I headed for the movies :/
That night, I treated a round of close friends for a Korean dinner and had a karaoke session at CHI lounge after that, which was good. I hardly sing, because I sound like crap - but I like the sort of closeness it brings when we're all there together. I wasn't really expecting gifts this year, but a few of them surprised me. So this year, I had quite a few close friends to accompany me as it struck midnight. I'm contented but can't help wishing that the remainder of my loved ones could be by my side as well, impossible as it is.

I bummed around on my actual birthday til evening. Some of my friends took me to watch the Phantom of the Opera as part of my birthday gift :) I spent the next day trying to catch up with 2 friends, before rushing to pack and do some house chores before I left for M'sia at night. I managed to bruised myself (which lasted for 2 weeks) along the way, and to make matters worse, I got into an arguement with Rs. It was rather a misunderstanding, which I eventually apologised because I didn't want to leave on bad terms, which he chose to ignore. So, it was a great farewell for me. :/

June.
My trip to US with my family was pretty good. Could have been better, if one of my camera memory sticks didn't get corrupted and lost more than over 500 photos in it. Sigh.
I suppose that's it for now.
