Be it different circles of friends, or even among your family and work mates.
Have you ever seen the pics or read about the lives of acquaintances through their blogs or somewhere else and wonder how would it be to be part of their circle? Wondering how come you never made it to their circle and be part of that particular social group. Or whether you could fit in as another new member, if such an opportunity came up?
Have you ever tried to initiate hanging out with some people, only to realise that you're most probably being "zoned out". As in, you don't feel as welcomed or succeed in fitting in as much as you hoped? It doesn't matter why. It could be personality differences, or they're just not that interested to get to know you in the first place. Judging you based on the initial impression that they had on you, they are close to believing that you just can't fit in or that you're just not of the same kind.
Or how about wondering about a person's true personality. Say, you hear people sing praises about someone and it seems a little different from what you've gathered about the person? Is it because we act differently to the people we like and care about, so they get the better piece of you while the rest might get a 'less sincere' part of you?
Even among your current circle of friends, are you the 'life of the party, or perhaps the organiser that gets every meet-up going? Or are you just the 'tag-along'? Maybe you're the 'last resort' -the one that is called because they need you for a reason. Or just because you're a tad insignifant as compared to the rest, that you always end up being the last to pop among their minds. It's unfair but nearly every individual gets labelled somehow.
No, there is totally no purpose to this post. I wouldn't say anything has happened in my life lately that made me blog about this. But the question came to mind and it made me ponder for awhile.
Yeap, this is definitely the consequences of having too much time in your hands. -_- Anyway, have a great Chinese New Year. :)
